team building
2007!
Here we go in a new year. New students, new challenges, new opportunities.
In preparation, the dorm management team from both men's and women's residences went on a team building camp on the Breede river.
A lovely venue, and we hope much was learned. The lighter side included canoeing and a few practical jokes.

The Sarong Party
The Sarong Evening deteriorated to 'come as you are' seeing as it was rather cold, and we planned a braai on the sun deck at the top of the girl's dorm. We braaied mealies and marinated dried fruit kebabs. Fairly sucessful braai. Very noisey evening with music for the whole vally. Then the swim in the cool of the midnight helped to bring us all to their sences and we came home to bed.
Some of the happy family.
Instep with the music.
Simei and Isabella joined us and we were happy to have them. Isabella also swam in the middle of the night!
Clem is helping at the braai.
Consolata, that is an original garment with safety pins all along the hem!
They say the water is warm... but 'warm' is a relative term.
Thank you for the photos Khanyisa Gantsho.

the residents
This is the cheerful group of Anne Visser House residents for 2006 - in part. There are always those who forgot to come pose with us, and we miss them. I said that this picture could be downloaded from the blog. But in fact, I had to compress it and so I doubt it will be very clear when once you have downloaded it. Stand by, I will be making hard copies. Come see me if you want a photo. - Esther

The Vredendal Venture
8 high school students from Helderberg High went with Andre Joubert to help the Be Free Expo in Vredendal. 3 of the girls were from Anne Visser house. Nokuthula, Thembu and Megan. Health Expos are a rewarding venture for all who participate.

Worship in the back of the bakkie at stradfontain.
The health expo staff trained the high school youth in basic proceedures likeb recording weight, checking blood pressure and a spot of councelling. Many people came throught the hall to have their health appraised. A group of policemen needed to be weighed, and counseled. ..
But inevitabley the time comes when everyone must go back home. So with a little less sparkle and glee we have Nokuthula, Zintle, Mr Joubert, Thembu Megan and Jamie.
